For the time being, BP has stanched the oil spill. Americans can now watch the nightly news and they won't have to look at live video of oil gushing into the Gulf of Mexico.
While the oil was still spilling, I would sometimes get a faint queasy feeling in my stomach while watching live video of the geyser that spewed millions of gallons of toxic chemicals (oil and dispersant) from the bottom of the gulf - for now, I no longer get that sickening feeling.
And since that has happened, I feel like Americans are starting to lose sight of the plight that still faces Gulf Coast citizens. Gulf Coast residents will be in need of relief for months, most likely years to come. Residents along the Gulf Coast will still need your help even after BP finishes the relief well that will stop the oil spill for good.
What can you do to help Gulf Coast residents?
